Jean:
I saw your Catherine McGILLIVRAY in the OPR's for K & K and wondered
who she was. I'll add her to my Catherine database. I'm getting
quite a collection, but will have to take a week off just to bring y
database up to date.
I didn't know what I was starting when I posted Archibald
McGILLIVRAY's letter to the List.
I've had so many responses thanking me for posting the letter to the
List. It really does give a good picture of pioneer conditions in the
1840's, at least in York County. If I had any more I would post them.
Unfortunately, when our Home Farm was sold in 1965, all the old
letters from Scotland from the 1830's on, went in the fireplace.
Every time I think of it, I grind my teeth.
When I get all this information put together, I may just post all the
Catherine's I have to the List and everyone can take from it whoever
belongs to them. That way, it will be in the Archives for future
researchers, all saucered and blowed.

Anne Stevens
