I have not researched any of this line myself, but family papers do list
Neil Campbell's parents as "James Campbell, a farmer in Argyllshire, and
Isabelle (once "Isabella") MacDougall, and James' parents as "Capt. James
Campbell and Lady Catherine MacDonald". A note states that the MacDonalds
opposed Catherine's marriage to a Campbell and infers that they eloped.
Catherine was dis-owned by her father but forgiven before his death. She
apparently lived with Neil Campbell on the Ross of Mull and died before they
left for Canada.

There is no mention of James and Isabelle coming to Canada. Given the
details of Neil's settlement in Lochaber, I would assume that his parents
remained in Scotland or died before he emigrated.
