My husband's great-grandmother's sister traced her McLean line back to Mull.
He grew up hearing about it, but never knew the details. Now that she (and
her papers) are gone, he's interested in it. I don't know how to go back to
the person from Mull who came here.

His 2nd great-grandfather was G. A. McLane of Lewisburg TN (1835-1905), son
of

Jesse McClain (b. 1778 in Guilford NC, died 1844 in Belfast TN) and Flora
Patterson, son of

John McClain Jr. (b. 1754 in Philadelphia PA, d. 1795 in Guilford NC) and
Dorcas McComb, son of

John McLean (b. 1724 in Ireland, d. 1807 in Guilford NC) and Jane Marshall,
son of

John McLean (b. about 1690)

Is anyone a part of this family or recognize the line? I don't have a clue
where to go from here (present day Tennessee). I appreciate any help.
