538 Iona does indeed include the western end of the Ross of Mull (ie Fionnphort & Kintra) as well as Iona itself.

545 Kinlochspelvie cover the south eastern part of Mull from Lochbuie, in the west, to Craignure, in the east.

With regards to the contents of the Mull OPRs. I don't often have recourse to refering to them as I'm mainly interested in North Argyll. Mull is a whole fascinating subject in itself.

The reason there are holes in the OPRs is that Churches/Parishes were reluctant to let (SRO) Edinburgh have "their" records when recording was formalised in 1855. There have been occasions of records coming to light, when builder work has ben carried out and, their place of hiding having been discovered.

A comment and a question about the Mull parishes.

The Torosay records I have looked at have one year of births in 1772 and
then nothing until 1793. The marriages begin in 1805. Both of these finish
at 1819 and I haven't looked any further yet. Is there a gap from 1819 to
1830?
The Iona records cover not just the island of Iona but also some of the
eastern area of the Ross of Mull.

I haven't run into Kinlochspelve yet, what area does it cover?
