Just to correct a bit of geography/history, although listers may think me pernikerty. Seil is in fact an island, albeit joined to the mainland by a bridge (The Bridge over the Atantic) about 11 mls south of Oban. The hotel, on the Isle of Seil side of Seil Sound, is the Tigh an Truish (House of the trousers) so named because, after the wearing of the kilt was prescribed following the '45 (Jaobite Rebellion) islanders would leave their kilts there and chage into "the trousers" before crssing to the mainland.
