As mentioned in a previous posting Roderick (Roger) BEATON aged 93 at the time of the 1851 census was living at Ardalanish with his unmarried son Malcolm and another son Neil & family.

Ida has pointed out that there was an Archibald BEATON living next door to Roger BEATON at Ardalanish in 1851 and wondered if he was a brother.

In the 1779 Duke of Argyle's private census mention is made of brothers Rodger, aged 15, & Archibald, aged 3, the sons of John BEATTON of Ardelnish.

The IGI shows ten children baptised Kilfinichen & Kilvickeon to Archibald & Catherine BEATON:

I could not locate a marriage entry for Archibald BEATON to Catharine BEATON on the IGI.

If anyone has a connection to the above family or further information on them I would appreciate hearing from you.
