KILNINIAN Burial Ground - Monumental Inscriptions

1855: Erected by Kenneth MCLEAN in memory of his wife Euphemia CAMPBELL who
died 25th October 1831 aged 27 years.

Erected by Neil CAMPBELL in memory of his mother Janet CAMPBELL who died at
Balligown 28th September 1854 aged 63 years.

In loving memory of our dear father Donald MCGILVRAY who died on 5th June
1928 aged 70 years. Also our dear mother Mary MCMILLAN who died 31st
December 1932 aged 85 years. Their daughter Catherine who died 25th January
1957 aged 69 years. Her husband John MACRAE who died 31st January 1951 aged
65 years.

In loving memory of Annie MCCOLL who died 18th July 1959 aged 83 years
beloved wife of David MACKENZIE who died 31st December 1970 aged 73 years

In loving memory of Sarah MACLEAN who died at Tobermory on 6th February 1944
in her 93rd year wife of the late Donald MACLEAN Langamull and of her
mother Sarah MACNEIL who died at Kilninian on 27th March 1889 in her 74th
year, wife of the late George MACLEAN, Burg.

In loving memory of Sarah Morag daughter of Donald and Sarah MACLEAN of
Langamull died 12th February 1986 aged 92 years.

In loving memory of our dear father Neil MACNEILL who died 9th August 1842
aged 88 years. Also our dear mother Jessie MACDONALD who died 11th August
1942 aged 86 years. And our sisters Katie who died in infancy and Jessie
who died on 16th March 1971 aged 84 years.

Erected by Mary MCLEOD in memory of her beloved husband Duncan LAMONT who
died at Craigmore Cottage 28th February 1882 aged 63 years. And their
infant son who died on 15th January 1860. Also their daughters Jane Mary
MCLEOD who died at Tobermory on 23rd May 1863 aged 7 years and Catherine
who died at Salen on 6th February 1870 aged 19 years.

In memory of Alexander MCLEAN who died on 13th December 1813 aged 30 years.

In loving memory of Duncan MCKINNON Fanmore-Torloisk 1846 - 1926. His wife
Morag 1860 - 1946. Their family Katie 1892 - 1967 Christina 1895 - 1969
Margaret 1894 - 1973 Donald 1902 - 1988 Sarah 1900 - 1972 Hugh 1897 -
1975

Erected by David BORRIE Gardener Torloisk in memory of Isabella MCLEOD his
spouse who died on 26th July 1831 aged 81 years.

Erected by his father John MCEACHNIE Balligown: Here lies the corps of John
MCEACHNIE who died 21st December 1818 aged 20 years.

Placed by Arch. MCDONALD Ulva in memory of his son Duncan who died on 4th
March 1835 aged 2 months.

Erected by the family in memory of John MCINNES who died at Fanmore on 16th
December 1868 aged 56 years. His daughter Sarah MCINNES who died at Glasgow
on 16th December 1869 aged 19 years. Also his wife Flora MCLEAN who died at
Burg on 31st July 1902 aged 84 years and their sons Donald died at Burg 1901
aged 39, John died in America 1904 aged 48, Coll died at Larbert 1910 aged
52, George died at Burg 1926 aged 91, their daughter Christina died at Burg
10th September 1956 aged 99.

In loving memory of Donald MCDOUGALL who died 6th October 1912, hiw wife
Marion MACNEIL who died 1st March 1912, their daughters Catherine CUMMING
who died in August 1882 and Catherine who died 8th December 1905. Erected
by the family.

Erected by Donald MACLEAN Tostary in memory of his father Charles MACLEAN
who died at Tostary January 1886 aged 73 years, his mother Mary LIVINGSTONE
who died at Tobermory March 1879 aged 78 years, his brother John who died at
Burg October 1855 aged 18 years. His brother Peter who died at Rheudale
March 1841 aged 18 months, his sister Anne died at Langamull June 1909 aged
84 years, wife of the late Coll MACLEAN.
[at the foot of this grave] In loving memory of Donald MACLEAN originally
of Tostary who died at Langamull on 2nd February 1910 in his 78th year.

Erected by Hector MCDONALD in memory of his father John MCDONALD who died at
Tostary September 15th 1881 aged 78 years. Also his mother Betsy RANKEN who
died September 6th 1881 aged 66 years. And John his brother who died March
8th 1879 aged 37 years. Also Peter his brother who died February 12 1873
aged 19 years.

Erected by Donald MCLUCAS in loving memory of his mother Flora MCLUCAS who
died 7th February 1946 aged 89 years. His father John MCLUCAS died March
1888 interred at Calgary, his sister Annie died at Griefport (?) September
1899 aged 19 years interred at Calgary, his brother John died 10th October
1928 in northern Rhodesia aged 44 years interred at Bwana M’Kubura, his
sister Flora died 29th October 1968.

In loving memory of John BLACK who died 14th April 1945 aged 71 years,
beloved husband of Charlotte S. MACINNES. Also their son Charles who died
in infancy. The above Charlotte S. MACINNES who died on 31st March 1951
aged 75 years.

Erected by Murdoch MCINNES in memory of his father John MCINNES, Kilninian,
died 17th June 1854 aged 78 years. Also his mother Ann MCLEAN died 6th ??

Tobermory on 19th May 1953 aged 79 years, son of Murdoch MCINNES.

In memory of Charles MCINNES died 1st January 1878 aged 54 years. Ann his
daughter died 6th May 1901 aged 38 years. Margaret his daughter died 3rd
August 1902 aged 29 years. Also his wife Sarah MCKINNON died 3rd April 1929
aged 85 years. Mary Ann their daughter died 4th October 1961 aged 92 years.
Donald his brother died 4th March 1877 aged 64 years. Catherine his
daughter died 13th February 1876 aged 13 years.
