Subject: MacPhail/Thomas Family- Tobermory

Am seeking info on my great grandparents (Hugh Thomas and Sarah MacPhail) who
lived in Tobermory (late 1800's through 1914). They may have also lived and
worked on Wheatlands Farm in Bonnybridge, Denny, Stirlingshire for a few
years. They later moved to Cleveland Ohio, USA in 1914.

Sarah MacPhail was born about 1859 and married Hugh Thomas in 1886. Hugh was
born in Cathcart, Renfrewshire in 1860 and I believe Sarah was born on Mull.
They had 6 children (Sarah Daisy; Helen Mary; Anne; Hugh Jr; Robina Bedford,
and Catherine Christina.) 4 of the 6 children came to the USA.

Sarah MacPhail's parents were Sarah MacLean and Alexander MacPhail. They
worked at Aros House (?) Isle of Mull probably as groundskeeper and cook.
She had at least 5 siblings (Christina, Hugh, Annie, John, and Alexander).
Some of them may have moved to Ontario Canada in the late 1800's and then on
to Ohio USA.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone with knowledge of this family or
sharing information if any of this connects to your family.
