Hi Toni
I have notes that McLean = McLergan in connection with McPhees. You can see
this with Ted's transcriptions of the birth/bapt with parents Alex
McDuffie/McDuffee and Margt/Peggy McLean/McLergan. With dau Meney she is
Peggy McLergan and with dau Elizabeth she is Margt McLean both born at
Grobols/Grobas, Kilarrow.
Cheerio
Sue .

I need advice from you McLean and McLergan specialists!
To your knowledge, have these two names ever been interchanged?
I have a Christian Sinclair who died in 1856, the spouse of ?McLean (I later
found out his name was "Malcolm McLean").
I can't find a marriage for them, or baptism of either of their children,
Alexander and Jessie. However, there is a marriage of a Christian Sinclair
"of Daill" (same location as our Neil, and sister Mary Sinclair) to a
Malcolm McLergan, of Kilchoman, on 3 Dec., 1801.
Can this be the same couple?
Toni
