Hi Dale, I too am searching Mcmurchy's in Killean and Kilchenzie parish. I
have a John McMurchy marrying Janet Carmichael 22 May 1788 at Killean &
Kilchenzie. Children so far include Ann, John, Janet and Donald. That's all
I have found so far. Could be a James. Your James who md Isabella Gilchrist
and two parishes are mentioned where the banns were posted most likely means
one party is from Killean the other from Kilcalmonell. The latter date is in
the parish they married but undoubtedly same couple. I have Gilchrists in
Kilcalmonell (Effie Gilchrist abt 1790). If I find a James researching this
family of McMurchys I will be sure and contact you. regards, Jen
