Anything is possible, but...if there is a connection, it would be way back.
My ggrandfather and his siblings are the first immigrant ancestors in my
line, that I know of for sure. His parents died in Germany. I have no
concrete info at this point on any of my gggrandfather's siblings emigrating
to America. This family was rooted in Burgsteinfurt, Westfalen (current
state of Nordrhein-Westfalen, northwestern Germany), back to the late 1700's.
In the mid-1700's my branch of the Schute's moved from lower Hannover
(current state of Niedersachsen, north of the aforementioned state).
In my search of German church records, I've seen two versions of my name,
Schute and Schuten.
As I said, anything is possible. Thanks for the reply.

Hi,
My GGrandfather came from Pennsylvania. He was born there. His name was
John Schude. I do not know his fathers name. I know he moved to Houghton,
Michigan at some point and either married his wife Rose there or just before
he left Pennsylvania.
After a few years, he then moved to Chicago. I don't know alot about the
family. I know they were from German occupied Poland. The family name was
spelled Siuda. I believe I have found the death records for Rose Schude but
cannot find anything for John Schude. It appears he just disappeared. I
realize the spelling of the names are different, but are similar enough that
there could be a connection?
