I am looking for information about Mary Barbara SCHAFFNER who was born in Pennsylvania in 1865 (I think either March or August of that year). She married William NORWOOD and they lived in New York state. She out-lived her husband, who died in the early 1900s, and collected a pension since he was a veteran of the Civil War (50th NY Engineers). Her death date is unknown, and I doubt she would have remarried at such a late age.
I am trying to find out her parents' names and names of siblings, if any. My best guess is that they were from a county bordering NY state, since Mary and William were living in Chemung County, NY at the time of his death. Any help is appreciated.
