The following website contains an photograph of a house listed as
"Scaddings" near Hemyock, Devon :-
[Hemyock is the village where many Scaddings....and most of the West
Dorset Scaddens, originated.]
http://hemyock.org/mediagallery/media.php/20081120115316522
The house is situated by the Madford Water, which is a tributary of he River
Culm,
and is just downstream of Dunkeswell Abbey.
It is thought that a medieval tannery associated with the Abbey existed on
this site.
It would be interesting to know whether any of the Scaddings listed on :-
www.scadding.net/families/Devon.html resided in this beautiful old house.
{The copyright of the photograph is owned by Martin Bodman}.
