I know this is a long shot, but I have a BIG brick wall and I am at wit's end trying to figure it out. My g-gfather was Andrew Blair Brock, and he married Meada Saylor in Harlan KY in 1896 (spelling of her name on the marriage certificate). My problem is I cannot find out who she is!!! The census records and other sources list her name as Middy, Middie, Almedia, Almelda etc. I am beginning to suspect that the "Saylor" surname is not correct. At other times I am sure she is an Indian and that is why there is no info.

I am hoping someone out there knows something. I will take any morsel of info, sometimes the smallest thing can be the key I am looking for.

I have several Saylor's in my tree, if I can help anyone, just ask.
