John Bowen's father was almost certainly John Sankey, who married Ellen Obee (1867 3rd qtr, Selby district, 9c 801). Again, the easiest way to check this is to order a marriage certificate. This should also give his father, which takes us a generation further back. Of course, the certificate is not cheap - 7.50 pounds sterling, last time I can remember.
