I have a James SANDS (born 1790-1810 VA/WV) who married Catherine
Stearman/Sturman/Steerman (born ca 1806-1807 VA/WV) on 8-25-1825 in
Hampshire Co VA/WV. They had a son Solomon SANDS, born 1-1-1823 VA who with
his parents came to Putnam Co., OH in 1833-36. Other records show Solomon's
birth as being 1825-26??????

Between 1836-1846 James Sands dies..no death record or grave has been found
to date. Catherine SANDS remarries to Sylvester BUCK by 1846. In the 1850
Putnam Co. Census, there is a Melissa Buck, 10 yrs old living with them.
She could be Sylvester's daughter by a 1st marriage or their child together.
Before 1860, Sylvester dies with no record found. Catherine Sands Buck
lives with her son Solomon's family until her death between 1881 and 1900
and no record has been found of that either. Solomon and his wife had 12
children all recorded. He and his wife have a huge stone in Harman Cemetary
and were very respected citizens. I can't figure out why there is no
records for his parents.

I know Othniel SANDS was in Hampshire Co., VA (later to be Hampshire Co.,
WV) as he purchased land there in 1790. I am trying to find a connection
with him.....any help out there???????????
