Dear all,
I just got a notice from Rootsweb, that they handed the Sands mailing list
over to me. I had volunteered when the messages, looking for the old
administrator were posted. I am list admin for several smaller lists, most
of them names and one Canadian province. I don't have a lot of rules. This
is a surname list, please don't post anything that is not related to the
name and/or genealogy. Please don't post virus warnings, flaming is not
allowed either.
Since it's been so quiet lately, I would incourage you all to post your
interests again. My great grandmother was Annie Metcalfe Sands, born 28.
May 1871 in Bradford, died 25. November 1902 in Yokohama, Japan. She
married Richard Boyes on 8. October 1900, District of Bradford. Annie's
parents were Thomas Child Sands and Frances Sarah Humble. Thomas was born
21. December 1826 in Leeds, died 24. March 1884, don't know where. He
married Sarah on 13. Sept. 1864 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. Thomas'
parents were William and Lydia Sands, that's all I know. Annie had 3 older
brothers, Henry C., Thomas and Percival. I don't have any other
information. Most of this information comes from friend's of an aunt of
mine who live in England, I have some census information, some of it is
from the IGI.
