I have many loose threads in my research. My family seems to have a connection with Sanderson, Wall(s), and Hicks so your messages interest me. Here are some of those loose threads:
A James and a Nathaniel Sanderson are found on 1820 Census in Montgomery Co, Tn.

July 1825 John Walls is guardian for children of Nathaniel Sanderson (dec.). Overall SAnderson is not happy about this and is wanting to be the guardian. Later, James and Overall Sanderson. James Sanderson also gets in the story and this goes on for several years with the Sanderson's even charging John Walls with Assualt and Battery at one point. Source: court records, Gibson Co, ,TN
MY conclusion: maybe John Walls is the grandfather to the children or perhaps an uncle - brother to mother?????

I don't know if my Wall(s) are related to this John but my WAll(s) family is found in 1850 US Census in Geibson Co. (Catherine Walls and grown children.) Catherine's land is on the boarder of Dyer and Gibson Counties and some of her information is in Dyer Co. instead of Gibson Co.

In 1850 US Census in Gibson Co a Mary Hicks and her children are living with Catherine. Mary and her children are found in Dyer Co Tnn in 1860 Census.
