they are on North Perry street east side.
In looking at the 1900 census compared to the 1920 census I think the 1920
census is
the same John Rutledge with errors of birth on it, since Edward is next
door, and they
are still on Perry street-- just another census taker error or the
transcriber making mistake.
John should have been age 61 instead of 50 and Mary should have been 55
instead of
45 on the 1920 census, Edward next door according to the 1900 census should
have
been 37 instead of 34. the 1920 census has Illinois as place of birth--
probably the info came
from a neighbor or someone who did not really know like maybe a daughter in
law.
We all know that sometimes the census taker took his information from a
neighbor if the
family was not home when they came. That will sometimes make the information
on the
census incorrect.-- You really have to sort thru all the information you
gain from a census,
usually the family will be found if you put all the facts together.
Now you know in 1920 they had the one son Edward Rutledge born in 1883.
