Hello,

I am a descendent of a family named Bain and as I have hit a brick wall I have decided to do more research on the spouses. One Bain female named Sarah, married a David H. Rutan in Coles County, Illinois. May 4, 1865. Sarah was his second wife and she apparently passed away in 1877. The time frame would be right for your Rutans of Coles County.
