He was born April 4, 1938, in Lebanon to Reese Rowden and the late Vivian Rader Rowden.

He worked for the Dept. of Defense at Ft. Mead, Md. until he retired. He then worked for Allied-Signal at the Rosman Research Station. For the last three years he had worked as the Senior Site Representative at an overseas location. He was a member of the American Legion Post at Hendersonville, NC.

In addition to his father, Reese, of Grove, Okla., survivors include his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Laura Rowden of Huntington W.V. and Meredith Denise Fisher and husband, Kevin, of Rossville, Ga.; three grandchildren, Kris Fisher, Shelby Villenes and Joseph Reese Fisher, all of Rossville, Ga.; two sisters, Judy Blessing and husband Tom, and Madelon Purdham and husband Wayne, all of Grove, Okla. and one brother, Floyd Lee Rowden and wife, Linda, of Yakima, Wash.; and many friends and relatives in the Lebanon area.

After an autopsy to aid pancreatic cancer research, his remains were cremated.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004, in the Oakland Heritage Church of God near Lebanon with Larry's cousin, the Rev. Joan Hart, officiating. Friends and family are invited to attend.

Burial will be at 3 p.m. in the Washington Cemetery at Lebanon. Full military rites will be conducted by the VFW of Lebanon.
