Dear Jenny,
I have a Margaret Rowan in my family line, born 3 May 1761 in Govan, Lanark, to John Rowand (b. 18 Feb 1730 or 31) and Agnes Mountgomerie (b. 14 July 1728). Both parents were born in Govan, and married in Govan in 1748.
I don't have a husband or children for Margaret; I am concerned that, since Margaret was born in 1761 and her daughter Janet born in 1809, that Margaret would have been 48 years old at the birth. Possible, but not the usual case. I have more Rowans that precede Margaret, so let me know if I can be of any help. Laurie Eichert
