The family has a picture of Thomas Ledford dated 1885 in a military
uniform. He lived in Butte Montana and was 17 at that time so far too young
to be a Civil War Uniform. Did the USA have any part in the Burmese war
Britian had going at the time?
Joyce , Ancestry lists an entry from 1884 Butte City Directory for a Thomas
Ledford who boards with and works for a J. R. Robinson as a Driver. There
isn't additional information that I see. Is it possible that young Thomas
is wearing a civilian uniform like a Chauffeur might wear? Beverlee
