My mom is 85 and remembers many of the people born in the mid 1800's who died in the 1920's & 30's as does my aunt Reba who is 86 and the last remaining child of my grandparents Eugene Shelton Oakes and Maudie Lee Pedigo.
I also have a picture of his parents -William Henry Oakes and wife Mary Elizabeth Hurt - supposedly her mother ( a Kennard) and Elvis Presley's Great Grandmother were sisters but we can't prove it. Its a story thats been in our family for a long time ( atleast since about 1955 ).
