Looking for Roberts roots.
William Henry Roberts, b. abt. 1845; married Mary E. (Molly Vickers according
to family records but listed Mary E. in 1880 census in Franklin County, FL).
Believe William Henry was either born in Key West, FL or came there as a boy.
Was supposed to have been married to another woman in Key west and had
several children with her. Some of the children were Claude, Minnie, Bill.
Apparently she died and he remarried and had A. W. and William (called Will)
with Mary E.
Son A. W. (Adolphus Washington) Roberts, b. 5/13/1877 in Franklin County, FL.
Son William Walton Roberts (called Will), b. 9/18/1880 in Franklin County, FL.
At some point the family moved to Hillsborough County, FL. A. W. and Will
worked as cigar makers at the Morgan Cigar Factory in Tampa, FL.
A. W. married Jessie Floyd in 1902 in Tampa. They had 2 children, Melvin
Roberts, b. 10/30/1904 and Vera Roberts, b. 10/06/1909. (Vera was my mother)
This is all of the history I have on my ROBERTS branch. If anyone has
information toshare, please contact me. Janie Bartels
