Dear Robbins Researchers:

I have ROBINS and ROBBINS on both my Mom's (Virginia) and Dad's
(Massachusetts) side ... so if you see me inquiring about one line, there is
no necessary relation to the other. Today, it's my maternal line - the
southern line - I'm working on.

Seeking any information on my G5-grandparents Anderson KEEN (b. 20 MAR 1784
in Franklin County, Virginia) and his wife Elizabeth ROBINS (or is it Polly
ROLLINS?) who was also born in Franklin County, but two years later, in
1786. Note, the 1786 Franklin County, Virginia Personal Property Tax List
has two Keens (John, Elisha) but no Rollins or Robins -- though there is a

On either 4 AUG 1804 or 20 AUG 1804, Anderson and Elizabeth were married in
Franklin County.

Some time over the next three years -- by 1808 anyway -- the KEEN's moved on
to Grainger County, Tennessee and, by 1840, they had moved on to Clay Co.,
KY. However, there is a marriage record for one Anderson KEEN (of TN)
gettting married in 1840, in TN. Coincidental? Not sure ... but if
Elizabeth died in 1840, a remarriage in his 50s is still plausible.

Who were the parents of this couple from Franklin Co., VA???
Where did they come from ???

Lucy Maxey B According to "Information on Walter Maxey of Franklin Co.,
Virginia," Vol. 5, page 14, Raney Collection, Rocky Mount Public Library,
Rocky Mount, Franklin County, Virginia .....

Amy, daughter of William Cowden Jr. and Lucy [sic] Keen, was born circa
1803. In 1830, she married Joel Joseph Meador in Sumner County, Tennessee.
He was born in Bedford County circa 1795 and was the son of Joel and Sarah
(Moore) Meador. Amy died after 1860 in Wayne County, Missouri. Lucy Keen was
the daughter of Edward Keen of Franklin County, Virginia.
