I am looking for more information on my 2nd great-grandfather John Joseph Rieth. John sometimes went by Joseph, was born on Aug 1824 somewhere in Bavaria (most likely the Palatinate), emigrated to the US in 1845, lived in Alexandria KY, moved to and helped found Cullman AL, and then returned to Alexandria. He married Maria Kuntz on 14 Mar 1851 in Cincinnati and died on 24 Feb 1917. I am keenly interested in learning precisely where in Bavaria he was born and who his parents were. Thanks for any help you can offer. Rieth sometimes appears as Rith, Reith, Ried, Reid, and Reed.
