For the person doing the research on William W. Giles, Monroe co. Tn.

I did a search in census for William W. Giles, Monroe Co. Tn.

Here is what I found.

In 1860 he is listed living in the household of William Ray and his wife
William is 6 yrs old. and b. 1853 Tn. Sweetwater is the Town In this census it lists Wm. Ray as b. 1811 b. Tn. his wife Eliza b. 1817 Tn., W. W. Giles b. 1853 Tn. and David Stephens age 65 b. 1794 Tn. and that could very well be Eliza's father.
_______
1880
16-16 Reah, Wm. age 68
Eliza age 68
W. W. Giles age 26 b. 1853 Tn. servant- farm labor
Elmera age 23- servant
****************
1910 Civl Dist #14 Monroe, Tn.
Giles, Wm. Head age 53 married 32 yrs. b. Tn. and parents the same
__ Elmera wife age 53 5 children born to her and 5 living
__ Mary dau. age 30 Single
__ David son age 26 Farm Labor Home Farm Single
__ Eliza dau. age 28 single
__ Eyle Ray age 1 3/12 yr. single

Now here is the kicker, it looks like they have written gran aughter if that is the case then one of their sons married a Ray, Reah, Rhea. as this child is listed as a Giles

In the 1920 Census Dist 3, Monroe, Tn. Farmer Owned SD#2, ED #85 Sheet 6 Jan. 12-15 Dist. 3 First part of 3
Giles Wm. W. age 65 b. Tn.
Malissa age 46 b. Tn. Big Creek

Hope this helps . you do know that the Stephens family was married into the Rhea family. Also William Giles named one of his children David, was that after David Stephens?
