Dr. Bob,

I believe the person to whom you're referring in your story about the
soldier from TN and AL is Lewis/Louis Rhea who married Martha "Patsy"
Holloway 8 Dec 1824 in Bennettville, AL.

I don't have the name John as the first name of my Louis/Lewis, though.

Lewis/Louis was the son of Robert "Bobbie/Robbie" Rhea, Jr. and Mary
Stephens (daughter of Col. Jehu Stephens). Robert Rhea, Jr. and Mary
Stephens are my 3-great-grandparents.

We have records indicating that Louis/Lewis served in the War of 1812 in
place of my OTHER Rhea 3-great-grandfather, Jesse Rhea (son of James Rhea
and Mary Paul). These families all lived in Knox, Blount and Monroe
Counties, TN but I haven't been able to connect my two Rhea lines yet:
Robert Rhea Jr. and James & son Jesse Rhea.

Do your records agree with mine?

Polly Dixon in Houston
And "Hello" to Carolyn and Lynn :)! -- You probably also remember that
we have another John Rhea in the family -- my John Rhea, son of Jesse
Rhea (Lynn's and my ancestor). John is still a popular name in my own
family. There have been 10 or so in the last three generations. My son
is one of them.
