Lawrence, I believe was the name of the Single John L. Rhea in Knoxville.
When I was thru Alabama this summer, I was told by a Barnes Cousin who lives
Gadsden in Northeastern Al, of the local Judge named William Rhea and a
retired Army General who lives in Gadsden and coincidently had the same name
as Judge Rhea in Sneedville, Tenn. We visted him, and while we were there
he added some interesting information about how he was descended from a
solider in TN who went south to fight with Andrew Jackson in the war of 1812
and when the war was over, he had to walk home and along the way s\he
stopped over in Gadsden, met his future wife, and after a trip home to TN
came back and married her and has lived in Gadsden-except for war years in
Gadsden, Al. He was head of the Alabama National Guard after WWII and other
conflicts. I know he is kin of mine and possible Kin of yours as well.-----
