Although I have posted this query before, this seems to be a good time to do
so again since there is so much activity on this list.

Does anyone have any information about a RAY family residing in Huntsville,
Madison County, AL ca 1800 - 1835 with a son named William Henry RAY?
According oral family history my husband's ggrandfather, William Henry RAY, was born
there around 1820-1822; and when William Henry was very young, his father
died. His mother re-married and soon thereafter, she died. After his step father
re-married, William Henry RAY had both a step father and step mother. The
story relates that "his step father was mean and beat William". After one such
beating William ran away to Wilkinson County, MS where he married Jane VINING
in 1837. We have been searching for his ancestors for many years now, and
would be grateful for any information or guidance. Thank you.

Helen
