Here is what I show for the Dorchester Rheas. This is an old record of mine.
I show a differed wife's maiden name, but unfortunately I do not show the
source of the information on this line. I would be interested in how this
compares with the information of other researchers.

1. William RHEA born 1793, Scotland, married Elizabeth WHEATLEY, born
1811, died 2-Aug-1871. William died 24-Jul-1869, Dorchester Co. MD. A
school record from Dorchester Co., MD school #2, district #8 for the period
Aug
13, 1860 to Dec. 22, 1860 lists these children of William Rhea - Susan E.,
Thomas E., Joseph H., James Richard Rhea.

>From the Democarat and Herald, Cambridge Maryland newspaper, dated Aug 14,
1869:
Rhea - At his residence in Neck District, on July 24th. William Rhea 76
years.
The deceased emigrated to this country from Scotland when 21 years of age
(1814)
and commenced teaching school. Five years afterwards he visited his native
land
and returned bringing with him his father, mother, brother and sister, all
who
have long since numbered with the congregation of the dead. Mr. Rhea was a
man
of no ordinary mind. School teaching for which he was eminently fitted was
his
employment for 55 years. He was a good Hebrew, Greek and Latin scholar and
one
of the best mathematicians in the country. The Bible was his principal book.

An affectionate husband, and a most excellent neighbor.

He was singularly favored in his last hours, gradually passing away,
surrounded
by his family and relations, without a single pain. We pray that those ties
now
sundered will be united where no anticipation of coming evil shall overcast
gloom on the ransomed of the lord, and all tears will be wiped away. R.W.W.
Elizabeth: An entry in the William J. Rhea bible shows her birth as 1811.

Sarah M. ANDERSON, born 1851. Owned a mercantile (dry
goods) store.

viii Susan RHEA born 1852, Carson's Neck Dorchester Co. MD.

2. John RHEA born 11-Feb-1837, Dorchester Co MD?, sailor, married Mary Ellen
BENNETT, born 4-Apr-1840, died 9-Dec-1923. John died 20-Mar-1904.

i Amelia RHEA born 1860.
ii Sarah J. RHEA born 1868.

3. William Joshua RHEA born 17-Oct-1841, Dorchester Co MD?, married
23-Nov-1862,
in MD?, Martha A. SPEDDIN, born 2-Oct-1841, (daughter of Ralph SPEDDEN and
Margaret wife of Ralph SPEDDEN) died 10-Dec-1920. William died 20-Oct-1913.
has a copy of a contract between Joshua Rhea (carpenter) and
Henry Wright of Dorchester Co., MD to build a house in 1894. A letter dated
Aug.
27, 1903 from Thomas Rhea to his brother William stated that someone was very
ill and noted that Joshua and Martha were arriving in Baltimore on the
Steamer
Emma Giles.

ii William RHEA born 1866, Dorchester Co., MD, married Anne
THEISS, born abt 1856. This line is probably related to William
Rhea who immigrated in 1814 at the age of 21 to Dorchester Co.
MD
from Scotland. This information following is from the Wm. Rhea
family bible in the possession of Anne: The
William Rhea bible indicates a date of Dec. 18, 1876 associated
with her - probably her date of birth.
iii Margaret Elizabeth RHEA born 31868.
iv Mary Ellen RHEA born 15-Nov-1870. May have married a Seward.
In
the William J. Rhea family bible a Mary Ellen Seward (nee Rhea)
died Sept 12, 1942.
v Martha A. RHEA born 12-Mar-1873.
vi Robert James Dawson RHEA born 27-Feb-1875.

4. James Richard RHEA born 1844, Dorchester Co MD?, farmer, married
Isabella JAMES, born 1849. His name appears on a record of Dorchester
Co., MD school District #2 as James Richard Rhea.
Children:
i Elizabeth RHEA born 1873.
ii James Reverdy RHEA born 1876.
iii William Alan RHEA born 1-Jun-1878, married Alicia DAIL, born
21-May-1882, died 11-Nov-1963. William died 23-Sep-1962.

married 13-Jan-1873, in Dorchester Co. MD, Ella Snow SPEDDIN, born
1-Oct-1854,
