Do you know what the L stood for, in my family the L was for Lawrence. i thought if I had the middle name it might help

Pat this hold some hope as the Name Harriet is often mentioned in my
antedotal references to anncestor but I have eliminated her as my Gr-Great
grandmother who is Hattie Redwine/Rhea. It's possible, even likely that the
are realted Rheas for whom myJohn L. Is named. In our family naming pattern
sons are named after grandparents and aunts and uncles. One senario would be
that this John L. was my great
-great grandfather or more likely that this Harriet was my gr-gr-grand
mother and that my John L. named after her younger brother John L. listed
here as age 1. Any clues as how best to trace this line back? Thanks so
