After a rather long absence from this list, I have subscribed once again
to try to get some answers about my 4th great grandmother, Isabella Rhea
who married James McCleskey abt 1771 possibly in SC (no marriage license
has been found).
I have completed a search of the archives for this list and found
several messages where she is listed as a child of Robert Rhea and Sarah
Bingham. I have also found several files on Rootsweb's World Connect
Project that contain this same information.
I am looking for anyone who can provide documentation of the
relationship between my Isabella Rhea and Robert Rhea and Sarah
Bingham. A family group sheet is not documentation so please don't send
me one of those. I am looking for something like a baptism or
Christening record or a will. It is pretty generally agreed that
Isabella was married first to a Samuel Paxton. Perhaps there is a
marriage bond or license for that marriage. There is documentation that
Isabella and James were appointed administrators of the estate of one
Samuel Paxton in South Carolina.
It is also pretty generally agreed that there was some sort of
connection between the family of Isabella Rhea and James McCleskey and
someone named Turk. The Turk name appears as a middle name in several
generations of the descendants of Isabella and James.
