Dorothy,
I also am fortunate to have letters written by my ancestors.
One is a letter from a Frank Rhea Springfield, IL to my g.g.uncle James
Harvey Rhea 1913, still have the 18 page letter and the envelope, telling of
the three brothers who located in Virginia.

I also have copies of 6 letters written to James and Virlinda Rhea in Morgan
co. IL from her mother Betsy Lawrence in Ky. They sure helped me put people
into the right families., plus gave me a look at life in the 1840's forward.

I also have copy (I copied it) a journal by James Harvey Rhea 1871. If they
still have it up, you can read part of it on the Morgan Co. IL web page.
