I am sending some info I have come up with about men with the surnames and
firstnames of these brothers.

Service Record:
Enlisted as a Private on 18 September 1862 at the age of 45
Enlisted in <A HREF="http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?&ti=0&db=hdsregiment&f0=212&f11=Union">Company D, 37th Infantry Regiment Iowa</A> on 31 October 1862
Mustered out on 24 May 1865 in Davenport, IA

If he truly was 45 at his enlistment that would put his birth year at about
1817, which might be possible.

I have found Moses and hiram Ray in Mason Co. IL in 1850, from Ancestry, and
they are only giving the names, sex, place b. and farmer, price of land

But I thought it was interesting that Moses and Hiram live next farms to each
other
