.Ann,
According to information I obtained from FamilyTreeMaker.com when I
started on this research project, James Rhea and his wife Betsy
(Elizabeth) did go to Jasper Co., MO. He died there (this info says)
before 1859. This James Rhea is a brother to John Rhea, who is the gr gr
grandfather of my husband, Lynn A. Rhea of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
I do have a picture of another of the brothers, RILEY RHEA, who went on
to Oregon. A notation on the back of the picture noted that he was a
sheep herder.
I would appreciate hearing from you with any info you might wish to send
me concerning these members of the families that went west. According
to my information, some went to IL, OR MO . There were 14 children of
Jesse and Margaret Blair Rhea. Several of them stayed in or around
Blount Co., TN. .
Thanks,
Carolyn Rhea
Chattanooga, TN
