I've been reading the Civil War discussion and wanted to let you know one
of my "Rhea" ancestors fought as well. I'm connected to the Rhea's by my
maternal grandmother, maiden name of Bernice Grace Rhea of Crete,
Nebraska.
Her grandfather, David V. Rhea, from Paris, Illinois, was a 2nd
lieutenant, Company A, 7th Calvary of Illinois and fought in multiple
battles across the south.
He is a great-grandson of the Rev. Joseph Rhea of early Sullivan County,
Tennessee history.
I suspect many of the Rev. Rhea's descendants fought for the Confederate
army. Can anyone confirm this?
