North Carolina Census 1790-1890
I have started looking for Dr. Bob's John Rhea in NC. I have exausted
theTennessee records available at Ancestry, and Everton and not found one
John Rhea m. to a Hattie Redwine.
1. Dr. Bob What was Hattie's full first name. I suspect Hattie stood for
something different.
2. North Carolina formall annexed Tennessee in 1776 as Washington County.
3. In 1784 North Carolina ceded Tennessee to the United States in order to
secure federal protection for the area. The government refused to
acknowledge the cession, so the people in Tennessee organized the state of
Franklin. This lasted 4 yr. and North Carolina regained control in 1789.
North Carolina again ceded the area to the United States in 1789, which
formed the Southwest Terr. in 1790. Most of the Americans that came into
Tennessee after 1796 were from South Carolina, Virginia, and North Carolina.
In 1861 Tennessee seceded from the Union.
I think we need to look into North Carolina for the Redwines and the Rhea's
related to them.
Proud to be an American!!!!!
