For those of you who have not read the info in Notable Southern Families, here is some of the info given on the three pages. I don't see these books as law. There could be mistakes.

James Rhea 1774-1885, son of Rev. Joseph Rhea and Elizabeth McIlwaine. married (1815) Elizabeth Snapp, 1833-1857.

A.Margaret Rhea 1815-1898, m. 1832 John Pemberton Snapp, and had children: 1. Elizabeth Rhea Snapp, 1833-1857, who married Rev. Alexander Blair, 2. Florence Diana Snapp 1835-1908, who married Paul Williams, and had children Frederick Williams; Rebecca V. Williams who married FNU McNight; Elsie Williams; Florence Williams who married FNU Peak; Elizabeth Williams; 3. Vivolune M. Snapp 1839-, who married twice: First, Rev. Alexander Adams Blair; Second FNU Brazelton. She had a daughter who married B. A. Williams; 4. Cynthia Lodoville Snapp 1844-1917, who married Wendell Daniels Snapp, and had children a. Abram Lawrence Snapp 1870-, married Flora C. Martin. Children: Tennie, John Wendell, Hawkins Sevier, Elmer E. and Elizabeth Rachel; b. John Pemberton Snapp II 1872-, m. Laura Bayle; d. Rhea McIlwaine Snapp 1880- m. Dora Rowe. Children: Onell Rhea, Lester Wiseman, Alta Junetta and Janeva Florena; 5. John Raymond Snapp; 6. Tulen Velosso Snapp 1846-, married Isaac Earnest; 7. Cice!

B.John Quintas Rhea 1818-1883, married twice. 1. 1843 Cynthia Williams; 2. Cornelia Catherine Williams, sister of first wife. Children from first wife: Margaret Francis Rhea; 2. William Fort Rhea; 3. James Rhea; 4. John Rhea, who married FNU LNU, and had children Joseph and Ivy; 5. Elizabeth Rhea. By second wife he had one child: 6. Annie Copeland Rhea, who married Thomas Humes Williams II, and had children: Copeland Rhea and Thomas Humes Williams III.

C. James Rhea II 1820-1891, married 1847 Louisa Smith, and had children: 1. Wright Smith Rhea 1848-1917, who married Jennie Rice, and had children: Walter Preston, Grover C. Wright Smith Rhea II and Alexander; 2. James Rhea III 1850-1917, who married Eugen Cochran, and had children, Willa 1890- and Elizabeth 18990; 3. Alexander Smith Rhea 1852-, who married Sallie Virginia Harris; 4. Bryant Whitfield Rhea 1851-, who married Sadie Roseberry, and had children: Raymond, Ruby, Wilber and Lesley; 5. Priscilla Ada Rhea 1856-1920, who married Dr. J. G. Ivey; 6. Florence Rhea 1859-1893, who married John C. Locke, and had children: Charles L. and David Rhea; 7. David M. Rhea 1870-, who married Margaret haston, and had one child, Flora; 8. Robert Lee Rhea 1872-1909; 9. Thomas B. Rhea 1873, who married May Legg, and had one child, Robert L.

D. Frances Rhea 1826-1888, married James T. Preston, son of John Preston and Margaret Brown(Preston) Children under James Preston

E. Samuel Rhea 1829-1902; married 1857 Lucy J. Williams (sister of Cynthia and Cornelia Williams), and had children: 1. James Copeland Rhea 1862-1889, who married Anna Louisa Owens, and had one child, James Copeland Rhea 2. Samuel Williams Rhea 1884-, who married Dora Welsh, and had one child, Frances; 3. Thomas Humes Rhea, who married Mrs. Latham, and had one child, Thomas Humes II; 4.
Mary Lucy Rhea, who married Jacob W. Denny, and had children: Lucy who married Charles Worley, Maxie who married Wilbur Hanner, and Mary who married Scott Palton. Elizabeth Dysart Rhea 1857-, who married Alexander Anderson (son of Audley Anderson and Cornelia (Alexander) Anderson, and had one child: Audley Rhea Anderson II; 2. Robert Preston Rhea 1859-, who married Nannie Bell Gillespie, and had children: Joseph Earhart Rhea 1882-, who married Nell Hill, and had one child, Sara Carolyn; Lillian Burts 1889-; Robert Preston Rhea II 1894-; 3. Hello Pat,

I do not believe this Elizabeth Snapp RHEA ever remarried. She died before
her husband, James.

Also, when all of their children all mentioned in the book you made reference
to, if indeed she died early, would not a date of death and place of burial
been recorded? Perhaps even final rites or did they do that then? Any
suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated by you or anyone else on
this great list.
