Regarding a place of death, or remarks about it,
Not necessarily. I have a similar situation, and if not for a journal by a g.uncle, non of us would have ever known that little Lewis died October, 1873. This was my John Lawrence Rhea's child by Mary Ann Turner. The g.uncle had left his home in Waverly, Morgan, IL and traveled to Cherokee co Ks to live close to his brother. In that journal it states that Mary Ann , his wife was in poor health, and that little Lewis would be buried the next day. We didn't even know he had a son Lewis.
In a perfect world it would all be laid out for us.

Hello Pat,
I do not believe this Elizabeth Snapp RHEA ever remarried. She died before
her husband, James.
Also, when all of their children all mentioned in the book you made reference
to, if indeed she died early, would not a date of death and place of burial
been recorded? Perhaps even final rites or did they do that then? Any
suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated by you or anyone else on
this great list.
Thanks,
Mary Ellen
