This is the URL for the 1840 Census of Pensioners
Go to the search part and put in the surname you are searching for. A page will open up with all the states that contain that surname. I couldn't get any of those sites to open. So I made a note of the states that contained the info I wanted, and then went back and clicked on that state. That works.
