I have a genealogy provided to me by Robert E. Rhea in 1997, that states John Rhea , son of William Rhea and Elizabeth Breden who married Elizabeth Looney Rhea in Fayette Co Tenn. 22 Dec 1840. She born in Maaruy County, Tennessee 4 March 1822. She was the daughter of Matthew Rhea and Mary Looney. She died 8 June 1892 Somerville, Fayette Co, Tenn, at 70 years of age.
It also states that John was listed as a member of a church in Paperville, Sullivan County, Tenn, 1 January 1847. The church was the Paperville Presbyterian Church. John and Elizabeth Rhea were dismissed from membership at Paperville Presbyterian Church in Sullivan Co on 15 Apr 1851 to join the Jonesborough church.

I have complete dates on these people if you need them. I also have information all the children and childrens children. If there is a specific child you are interested in let me know.
Their children were:
Mary Elizabeth b. 1842 d. 1876, never married
William Abram b. 1844
Matthew Robert b. 1846
James Samuel b. 1849
Margaret Ellen b. 1851 d. 1878

John Rufus Wells b. 1855
Lucinda Harriet b. 1858 d. 1884 Her gravestone lists her as Lucy R. Rhea

Pat,
It's very generous of you to post all this information for everyone on the
Rheas... One of my ancestors married a Margaret Rhea/Looney, and I'm still
trying to discover whether I am from their union or from his 1st wife.....
Her 1st husband was Robert Looney, Jr.; and he was killed by the indians.
So I'm enjoying all the information you are making available.
Thanks very much,
Dennis in Colorado
