Dear Mr. Foley,

Thank you for your speedy response. To answer your question, I don't know
what Elizabeth's middle name was. She was however, called "Betsey" on both
her marriage record at Logan Co., KY and on the divorce that Jeptha sought
and got in 1833 at Madison Co., IL. The divorce petition stated that she
lived in another state at that time. Jeptha did show up on tax records at
St. Louis 1829 and on the 1830 St. Louis census by himself as though he was
at work (plasterer) when enumerated. After the divorce she called herself
Elizabeth R. as in Elizabeth R. Windsor and then Elizabeth R. Riney. Her
remarriage took place at Quincy, IL and she and her sons seem to have spent
time living in Quincy for short periods. She had another child with Benj.
G. Riney in MO...maybe two... but both she and Jeptha would each have had an
illigitimate child before their remarriages in that case. The Riney
children were named Benjamin Tiffin Riney and Joseph I. Riney. Benj. G.
Riney (new hubby) died in Knox Co., MO 1852 (date on his will at Knox Co.
courthouse) and we have found deed transactions made by Elizabeth Riney
through 1875 in Knox Co. & Shelby Co., MO. The last sight I found of her
was in the 1885/86 city directory of Hannibal, MO and youngest son Joseph I.
Riney & family were there as well at the time.

Another clue is that on the 1820 IL census she is noted as being able to
read and write but Jeptha Windsor was checked as not able to do so. So, she
had been educated by her family. She also seems to have had ability with
making Real Estate transactions from 1819 through 1875.

I have not found either hers or Benj. G.'s burial place yet, so I don't have
tombstone dates and no obituaries to look at for more clues. I have to make
a road trip to Hannibal, MO and visit cemetery offices for records I guess,
since they don't respond to correspondence. If she isn't found there then I
am at another brick wall on that avenue. Because she spent time at Quincy,
IL I have often wondered if she had some Rhea family members in Adams Co. or
Pike Co., IL. Just a wild guess with nothing to substantiate it.

My asking for the fifth generation RHEA families data was me grasping at
straws & hoping that some Elizabeth "Betsy" Rhea would show up as being born
1799/1800 in VA in one of the Rhea families and not otherwise being
accounted for. So far, we (the group) have found nothing in the Logan Co.,
KY Rhea families that would tie her to them. The closest we have come to a
common thread is that Charles Rhea from Rhea Co., TN married his wife
Clarissa in Logan Co., KY the same year as Betsey & Jeptha. We have found
very little about the RHEA's in Rhea Co. TN and where they connect into the
ancestor lineages.

Again, thank you for your consideration re: this Elizabeth "Betsey" Rhea.

Later....
Laura Gill
