#98- CHALKLEY, 2:21. * Executions. September, 1796 (H to T). "William Rhea
and William Martin intend, 3rd September, 1796, for Kentucky this fall."

Kentucky; William Rhea, Jr., Kentucky."

#99- GREEN CO., KY WILL BOOK 2, 107-108.* Will of William Rhea (Jr,), son of
William Reah/Reagh/Rhea of Augusta and Bath Counties. proved September 20,
1824. "My children have all married and I having divided all my estate among
them except what is hereafter divided think it unnecessary to mention them as
it is my will and pleasure that my son William Rhea in consideration of my
being indebted to him have all the right, title, benefit and interest I have
in a suit in Chancery now defending in the Green County Circuit Court against
the heirs and representatives of Wm. Brownlee, decd... It is further my will
that my son William Rhea...have all the property of what kind soever that
would be coming to me upon the death of my granddaughter Elizabeth Hutcheson
agreeable to the will of her father and mother..."Son, William Rhea, executor.

#100- CHALKLEY, 2:140. * Anderson vs. Rhea , Bill, 1813.* Robert Anderson
sued for clear title to land purchased from William and Elizabeth Rhea, the
title bond dated April 19, 1806, and the deed dated April 3, 1810 (GREEN CO.,
KY DEED BOOK 6,39-40).* Robert Anderson stated that the tract was one of five
"...held by a certain David Mitchell, who died about twenty or thirty years
ago intestate leaving as his heirs, James Mitchell his brother, the
representatives of two deceased sisters of the whole blood, one of them named
Brownlee, the other the name of Tate-and either a sister of the half blood or
her representatives...The aforesaid Rhea was the husband of one of the
daughters of sd. William Brownlee...there were nine children of W. Brownlee,
sons and daughters, all of whom were entitled to distribution...." He felt
that all of the heirs might not have relinquished their interests before the
deed was written.
Following is a transcript of a letter from William Rhea addressed to
Mr. Robert Anderson, Cuttaba Creek, Botetourt County, Virginia:
"Green County Kentucky October the 8th:1808. Sir since my last letter
the first of July giving a statement of my busness and Since that I received
another of August the 10th Stating a further inteligence of the Bisness I
would wish Hays could be pushed to a A trial, but I Expect it will Come in
Corse you wrote me in your Last if I Could make my Self Safe Some other way
with Brownlee till the suit would be tried, but I Cannot Come on him any
other way till it is Determined, I Expect to be in Virginia my Self this fawl
perhaps in the first of November if not as Soon after is(?) posable if I
Should not be in before the asembly of Virginia is Caled I would wish you to
forward a pettition to the Asembly to apoint Commishoners to make the
Relinquishment for the heirs of James Mitchel Dece'st to the Brownlee
Devision of David Mitchels Land as it is in the opinion of the most part of
knowing wen that it can be don, a Relinquishment can be had from the heirs
which will be som time before their Relinquishment can be had who is under
age my busness here calls me to go Sooner to virginia then otherwise I would.
I am in much need of money. I hope you will Rais me the first and second
gails at the least and the other can the better do without a while- I am your
Humble Servt. William Rhea."
The following notice written by William Rhea was also found in the
file.
"On the evening of the 15th or morning of the 16th of this instant I
lost out of my sadlbags at or near Robert Andersons my pocketbook with
several notes of considerable Value and a number of other papers which is of
importance to me if any person should find it I would thank him to send it to
Mr. Anderson or to publish it so as I shall get my book and papers. January
the 17th, 1812. Botetourt County, Virginia-William Rhea."
