47. Montgomery Co. VA Deed Book A, 287-288.* Dated September 16, 1782,
recorded March 4, 1783. John Noble, attorney in fact to Alexander Noble, to
give cleartitle to John Reaugh, "heir at law to Robert Reaugh, deceased,"
for 593 acres "...on a branch of New river called Cripple Creek...being the
same said John Reaugh now lives on..."At an unspecified date, the property
was sold to Robert Reaugh but the deed was never recorded in Botetourt
County, Virginia. The deed was written between late 1769 to 1772, for at
that time Botetourt County had jurisdiction.
Ibid.,288-289.* Dated September 17, 1782, recorded March 4, 1783. John
Reaugh to William Love, 149 acres on Cripple Creek. James White, a witness.
Ibid.,289-290*.Dated September 17, 1782, recorded March 4, 1783.
John Reaugh to William Ewing, 120 acres, "part of tract of land patented to
James patton, June 20, 1750," James White, a witness.
Ibid.,291-292.* Dated September 16, 1782, recorded March 4, 1783. John
Reaugh to James White, 126 acres, "being the said land John Reaugh now lives
on." All three parcels contained a total of 395 acres, with 198 acres
remaining from the original 593.
48. Monroe Co., TN. Deed Book A-L,773,(BookH,60-61).* Dated January 13,
1836. The location of John's property is not mentioned in the deed of gift.
Ann was "one of the heirs of John Rhea." Bequeathing land to a sister
suggests that he had no wife or children. He may have died intestate.
Ibid.,773-774(or BookH,61-62).* The deed of gift is followed by a
power of attorney, Ann Turk to George W. Turk, her grandson, to recover her
interest in John Rhea's estate. Registered March 3, 1836. Both Ann Turk and
George W. Turk were in Monroe County at the time.
49. Rockbridge Co.,VADeedBookB, 141-143.*Dated April 10, 1790, recorded
June 1, 1790. Archibald Rhea and Jean his wife of Augusta County, to heirs
at law of David Wilson, deceased, 74 acres. William Rhea, witness.
Ibid., 144-146.* Dated June 1, 1790, recorded June 1, 1790. Archibald
Rhea and Jean his wife to heirs at law of John Bell, deceased, 101 acres.
The two tracts shared common lines with the original 118 acres [Ref.4], with
the additional 57 acres located to the north of the Borden patent line.
