4. Archibald Rhea's property adjoined his father's on Cripple Creek. [18]
He and his brother, John, fought in Lord Dunmore's War in 1774 under Lt.
Jehu Stephens. [45] Archibald died in Knox County, Tennessee in 1793. [198]
In 1809, his widow, Margaret, and sons, Archibald and Robert, signed a deed
for property in Wythe County that he had sold without clear title to William
Love in 1785. The deed was witnessed by John Sevier, (Gen.) James White, and
Joseph Love.[46] John Sevier and General James White were prominent in early
Tennessee history.

February 10, 1803, daughter of John Sevier, first governor of Tennessee,

Jane Rhea [191] (2) Robert Rhea, ?-March 16, 1842, married Olivia Connelly,
June 6, 1809, [193] children: Ann Rhea, James White Rhea, John Rhea, William
Rhea, Robert W. Rhea, Calvin M. Rhea, Hugh G. Rhea, Miller Rhea, Andrew M.
Rhea, Mary J. Rhea and Jonathan Rhea. [194] (3) Jane Rhea, January 11,
1786-7-July 28, 1870, married Dr. Samuel Sevier, Catherine's brother, twelve
children. [191] (4) Ann Rhea, November 29, 1783-? [195] (5) Sarah Rhea,
married George Wear. [196] (6) Elizabeth Rhea, the youngest, married Samuel
Houston, children: James Turk Houston, Sarah Houston, Catherine M. Houston,
Hulda Cusick Houston, Elvira Mason Houston, Samuel Houston, Jr., Benjamin
Franklin Houston, Robert Burns Houston, Margaret Augusta Houston, Martha
Willis Houston, Ann Elizabeth Houston, William Francis Houston, and
Clementine Houston. [196]
5. John Rhea was appointed administrator of his father's estate, and
negotiated the sale of his property on Cripple Creek. [19, 47] In January,
1836, his sister, Ann (Rhea) Turk, devised her interest in John's estate to
her grandson, George W. Turk. [48] The author has no information concerning
John's marriage or family.
6. Isabella Rhea, perhaps the eldest child, married James McCleskey. [197]
