Hello you said:
>Penny,
When you say you have an old letter that mentions Febra Rhea. How old is
that letter, and who wrote it. Could it have been info from Frank Rhea?>

No, this is a letter written in the 1960's from Ida McCollum James to Ida
Depew Ferguson. They were cousins, from Hancock Co TN. Ida James was in
her 80's, living in TX and homesick for her "kin". Ida Ferguson was also
in her 80's and is my husbands grandmother. Ida James was telling about the
family and told what we call the Febra story. It is the story of a grandma
found in the woods (Indian) about 16 years old, the family took her and
raised her and one of the boys (John Rhea) married her. Her name was suppose
to have been Febra. We are thinking she may have been Melungeon.
