Pat & List,
John S. Rhea, born 1776, would not qualify for the Confederate Army (dead
or too old), and Polly's John S. Rhea would be unborn or a baby.
In the ROSTER of CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS 1861 - 1865, Janet B. Hewett, Ed.,
Broadfoot Pub. Co., Wilmington, NC, 1996, Vol. XIII, Page 112, there are
four soldiers named John S. Rhea:
Rhea, John S., TN 13th (Gore's) Cav. Co. H, Bvt. 2nd Lt.
Rhea, John S.., VA 18th Cav. 2nd Co. G
Rhea, John S., VA 25th Inf. 1st Co. G
Rhea, John S., VA 62nd Mtd.Inf. 2nd Co. A
One of the three from Virginia might be John Shaw Rhea but his company
doesn't match.
Might the John S. from Tennessee be related to the 1776 John S. who died in
Lincoln Co., Tennessee?
There are 235 Rheas in the list.
Robert Perry Rhea
