Hello Johnita and Ray researchers., I was over at Genforum reading some of
the
Ray queries and came across one of my older entries..now, I have added
some information since this posting but what I wanted to call attention to
was the unknown (by me..) 2nd family listed in the 1850 Roanoke County,
Virginia Dist. #57 Census. Here is what I previously wrote:
Hi! I have recieved some information concerning the 1850 Census of Roanoke
County, Virginia Dist. #57 and thought I might share; hopefully this will
help someone. The first Family of Rays are mine, I'm not sure at this point
of the others:
#581
William Ray 30, m, white, Farmer b.VA
Elizabeth A. KEFAUVER 23, f, w, b.VA
Sarah A. 7, f, w, b.VA (my GGGrandmother)
Emily, 4, f, w, b.VA
America, 2, f, w, b.VA
Taylor, 1/12, m, w. b.VA
There is also a A. S. Ray or S. A. Ray not listed. This was Sarah's brother.
Sarah A. Ray married Grandville H. Mallory. They are laid to rest in
Wabaunsee county, Kansas.
The other family is:
#635
Jubal Ray, 46, m, w, farmer, b.VA
Nancy, 35, f, w. b. VA
Morash (?) 18, f, w, b.VA
Elizabeth, 16, f, w, b. VA
Andrew, 16, m, w, b.VA
Clayborn, 14, m, w, b.VA
Jane, 12, f, w, b.VA
Lewis, 10, m, w, b.VA
Maxwell, 9, m, w, b.VA
James, 6, m, w, b.VA
Susan, 4, f, w, b.VA
Jubal, 1, m, w, b. VA
Also found:
Elizabeth Ray, 18, living with John W. Graham family.
Miriam Ray, 19, living with John Wortz family
Do you think this could possibly be the Moses (Morash) that you are
searching for?
Would the time frame match?
Notice whomever transcriped the Census wasn't sure of the Name.
